1 dress 2 ways! Old Navy has some of the best casual dresses around, but just because they’re casual doesn’t mean you can’t wear one to a nice dinner or event. Styled up and down, I’ll tell you what each look is complied of.
Now for the more dressed up look, you might want to do your hair better than mine! I had don’t beautiful loose curls, but it was so foggy and humid that my hair frizzed right up. Other than that, treat yourself to a new dress and tell me how you’re styling it!
Amy and Blake, Sid and Nancy, Bonnie and Clyde, Bob and Linda, Johnny and June, Ron and Sam. Out of all of these we are probably Bob and Linda from Bob’s Burgers, but I’d like to think we’re as infamous as the rest. Mike came into my life at the most amazing time and two years on we’re more in love than ever. This is just a Mike appreciation post, I love him very much.
This type of look is a go-to for me for a night out. High waisted jeans, tall boots or booties, a tucked blouse, and a leather jacket. Chic, comfortable, and timeless. You can even dress it up with jewelry or heels, maybe a sequin blazer.
I have naturally curly and frizzy, very thick hair. Even as a hairstylist (in training), I find it difficult to blow out my own hair. When I want my hair to embody Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show hair, I turn to my Babyliss 1 1/4 inch curling iron. I can take it over my natural hair and it still looks shiny and smooth, with the right products of course.
Shirt: ASOS Curve
Pants: New Look
My earrings are hard to see, but I love them! They’re about 2 inches of a simple, thin gold chain with a tiny, little fake diamond at the end. They are so subtle and classic and, as with this outfit, can be dressed up or down!
Throwing it way back to London in 2015!
While I was abroad in Scotland, I had gone to visit a friend who was studying in London. Out of all of the history and culture, platform 9 3/4 was first of three on my list to see. They provided me with a Gryffindor scarf, but I am loudly and proudly Slytherin.
As I was posing for this picture, I felt like second grade me seeing Harry Potter for the first time. It was an actual dream come true. If you are a Harry Potter fan and have the opportunity to go to London, make sure you head to Kings Cross Station and run directly into the wall at Platform 9 3/4.
This fall, Mike and I took a ride up to New Hampshire one Sunday. On a street corner in the middle of the mountains was a farm stand selling fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Do you see the size of those carrots? That potato? The corn sweet and crisp. These were, hands down, some of the best farmstead veggies I had ever gotten. I used most of the content of this box to make an Irish beef and Guinness stew.
Recipe to come.
Growing up in New Jersey with a family primarily from Brooklyn, going to the mountains wasn’t really a thing. We didn’t ski, we didn’t do any other winter sports so we never made the trip. It wasn’t until I met Mike that I went up to the mountains in New England for the first time. At first I was nervous and skeptical (ridiculous I know). I soon fell in love with the peaceful and airy surroundings and the views that go on for miles and miles. Now, I’m the one poking Mike begging to take a drive up there, especially in the fall. The Kancamangus Highway and Mohawk Trail two of our favorite spots to cruise on a sunny Sunday.
I would do anything to be basking in the sun on the Cape. I miss summer and I miss the beach. I miss driving with the windows down singing loudly and poorly with Mike or my best friends or both. I miss walking across the street to get ice cream and eating it on the stoop. I miss being tan and my natural sun-kissed highlight. Most of all, I miss the summer sun which stomps spring, winter, autumn sun into the ground.
Right now, it’s nearly April and the sunny window will do.
I escaped today for about an hour for the first time in days. The weather was beautiful, the city was quiet, and who doesn’t love an excuse to dress up and get a cannoli from Mike’s Pastry? This is one of my absolute favorite dresses. It has the slightest bit of weight to the fabric, perfect for the days when we’re not sure what the weather is going to do. I paired this perfect dress from ASOS with a belt around the waist and white leather booties, both from Torrid.
i am loving my new shirts from @discountcemetery! my order came with vampire fangs and a free tote. if you’re a spooky gal like me, you gotta check em out.
